LEGAL COUNSEL - UKFULLY REMOTE £100,000 - £110,000 PERMANENT ROLERole Overview:Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are presently representing a world leader in the provision of software and AI services in the field of clinical research. Our client are looking for a qualified Solicitor to take the lead on commercial legal matters for their UK business. You will be part of a legal team with teammates in the US and Belgium and report to the VP of Legal and Compliance based in Belgium.Key Accountabilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, review and process complex agreements including SaaS, software licensing, and professional services agreements with customers and suppliers worldwide;
  • Provide advice and contract interpretation on nonstandard legal, financial, and business issues raised in contract documents;
  • Be involved with the entire contract life cycle, including dealing with preparation and sending of template documents, negotiation and finalization; and internal distribution;
  • Assist with template review activities to ensure standard documents are up to date with current legislation across global jurisdictions;
  • Support the development a Legal Operations program through efficient process improvement and implement tools for the legal department to manage operations and reduce costs;
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments and regulatory changes impacting the organization, and proactively update company policies and contracts accordingly;
  • Support the general legal matters of the company linked to the daily business and coordinate with the HR, Procurement and other teams based as needed.

About You:

  • A UK qualified Solicitor with roughly 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Experience negotiating complex business transactions in technology contract law including SaaS licensing;
  • Experience working in cross-cultural, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional environments;
  • Previous in-house experience would be desired but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Data protection, Software Licenses, AI / ML, or Clinical Trials is a considerable advantage but again not essential
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with complex and demanding deadlines;
