Legal Project Manager - UK/Scotland/London
A leading law firm is looking to hire a client facing legal project manager. Based in the newly created solutions function, the main purpose of this role will be to work closely with Partners, matter teams and clients to oversee and coordinate the delivery of legal work to solve client's complex legal challenges. You will also support the development of client facing products or services, particularly AI enabled, enhancing the overall client experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the full lifecycle of matters to define scope, design governance structures, build and set up budgets, conduct planning and monitor progress and financials.
- Analysing planned vs actual performance at a profitability and margin level and identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Understanding process, technology, people, and data trends and identifying and implementing improvements into working practices.
- Contributing to the continuous development and improvement of LPM methodologies and processes; Building significant working relationships with stakeholders and identifying opportunities to grow LPM within the Firm.
- Providing matter teams with LPM knowledge and support with tools, templates, and legal tech systems.
- Collaborating with other departments involved in the delivery process; notably Business Development, Innovation, Accounts, IT (Information Technology) & Practice Development.
- Assisting in the design or improvement of contract management processes to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve compliance.
- Evaluating existing contract management processes, systems, and strategies to identify areas for improvement.
Main experience and skills required:
- Substantial project / process management experience gained within a financial or professional services environment or Legal Project Management experience.
- Competent with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and receptive to the use of modern technology.
- Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to confidently interact at all levels.
- Strong budgeting and numeracy skills
- Highly organised and proactive with the ability to prioritise and evaluate tasks in a progressive and collaborative environment.
To be successful in this role you need to be motivated and possess the ability to think strategically and pragmatically. Also essential are excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong project management experience.
