We are seeking a talented and driven Patent Litigation Associate with 1-5 Years PQE to join our clients Intellectual Property group, focusing on patent litigation within the technology and life sciences sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a top-tier team, recognized in industry rankings such as Managing IP’s ‘IP STARS’, IAM Patent 1000, and the World Intellectual Property Review's (WIPR) Leaders Directory.As an Associate in this role, you will play a pivotal role in building our patent litigation capabilities while working closely with the head of practice a leading figure in the Patent litigation field. This position offers significant client exposure, early responsibility, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the firm's growth and reputation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on contentious patent matters, with a focus on clients in the technology and life sciences sectors. Provide strategic counsel that aligns with our clients' commercial objectives, including litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering expertise across a spectrum of IP rights including patents, copyright, trade secrets, and more. Take ownership of matters, ensuring high standards of technical expertise and client service.
  • Manage and advise on multi-jurisdictional patent disputes, devising litigation strategies for clients on a pan-European and global basis. Collaborate effectively with international teams to provide seamless cross-border services.
  • Work collaboratively within the IP team, contributing to the firm’s sector focus areas including technology, life sciences, and decarbonisation.
  • Assist in securing new clients, maintaining relationships with existing ones, and expanding our network within the IP community.
Skills & Attributes Required:
  • 1-5 years PPQE in a patent litigation team within private practice.
  • Strong background in patent disputes, particularly within the technology and life sciences sectors. Experience with complex technologies, such as algorithmic software, medical devices, and emerging assistive technologies, is highly desirable.
  • Must have English court experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality client service with a commercial perspective. Comfortable managing significant client exposure and responsibility.
  • A relevant academic background in law, particularly with the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice, is an asset.
