A well-known Local Authority in London are working alongside Sellick Partnership to find a Planning Lawyer to join their reputable legal team on a permanent basis.

This role will be a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their skillset in a busy yet supportive environment.

The successful Planning Lawyer will be required to:

  • Provide high level specialist and proactive legal advice to the Council on legal matters relating to Planning, Regeneration, Environment, Property, Highways and Procurement
  • Actively support the management of the department
  • Advise on and draft documentation in connection with Planning and other Regeneration related matters
  • Draft agreements relating to the exercise of the Council's Planning and Highway functions
  • Deal with high level, complex individual casework and conduct litigation arising in the area of responsibility, without the need for counsel
  • Consider and give advice on committee and other similar reports and to attend committees
  • Contribute towards the running of Legal Services as required and provide general supervision guidance and training to lawyers within the team

The ideal Planning Solicitor will have a well-developed understanding of Planning law, ideally from a local authority background but candidates from private practice who are looking to transfer their skills are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate must be a Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX qualified.
