My client, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Lawyer specialising in property, planning, and regeneration for a contract role. This role involves leading and managing specific Council services at a tactical delivery level, providing professional expertise, and overseeing a complex programme or the commissioning of services for the Council.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Council services, providing professional expertise
  • Horizon scanning for emerging practices and innovations within the service for the next 1-3 years
  • Collaborate with Councillors to implement the strategic aims and objectives of the Service
  • Provide strong leadership, management, and guidance on resource allocation, risk management, change management, and behaviours
  • Role model the organisation's values and behaviours to inspire and educate the team
  • Manage and develop the workforce within the service area


Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in property, planning, and regeneration law
  • Strong understanding of town planning
  • Proven ability to provide professional expertise and leadership within council services
  • Capability to horizon scan and identify emerging practices and innovations
