The practice consists of two partners, six lawyers, a dedicated knowledge lawyer a highly experienced paralegal and one trainee. It deals with a wide range of contentious issues ranging from protecting the value of a client's assets, managing everyday business space, handling disputes arising out of buying and selling real estate, leasing commercial property, secured lending and redevelopment. As well as having very strong development and commercial landlord practices (acting for many of the largest investors and developers), the team is particularly well regarded in the real estate insolvency space and also has a growing practice dealing with building defects claims and the Building Safety Act 2022. The team also does some residential real estate work focussing on enfranchisement issues and high-level structuring and development advice.As part of the role, you will be involved in dealing with and advising on matters covering all aspects of commercial real estate disputes. This will include acting for the team's core client base of leading institutional investors, private equity houses, lenders and others on all aspects of contentious landlord and tenant and real property matters, as well as advising on development-related disputes and potentially other specialist areas including real estate insolvency, professional negligence and building defects claims.The team is looking for a Real Estate Disputes Associate / Senior Associate, with a strong focus on commercial landlord and tenant, real property and development-related work gained at a leading City or regional firm. The candidate must have a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degree) with excellent written communication and drafting skills. The ideal candidate will be an associate / Senior Associate with around 1-7PQE post-qualification experience and will have experience of managing an independent caseload and working as a member of a larger team.
