- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on complex local government matters
- Lead and participate in service-wide projects and initiatives
- Develop and implement effective case management systems to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including councillors, senior officers, and external partners
- Provide training and mentoring to junior staff to develop their skills and expertise
- Qualified to practice in England and Wales as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives
- Extensive experience of managing and supervising lawyers and support staff in an in-house legal practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong practice management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
