A well-known Local Authority in London are working alongside Sellick Partnership to find a Senior Planning Lawyer to join their in-house Legal Service's team on a permanent basis.

This role will be a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career and take a step up into a more senior role or someone who is looking for a new challenge in a reputable council.

The successful Senior Planning Lawyer will be required to:

  • Provide high level and proactive expert legal advice to the Council on legal matters including Planning, Environment, Regeneration, Highways, Property and Procurement
  • Actively support the management of the department and deputise for the Chief Lawyer
  • Provide supervision and training to approximately 2 legal professionals in the team
  • Advise on, and draft documentation in connection with complex Planning and other Regeneration related matters
  • Draft complex agreements relating to the exercise of the Council's Planning and Highway functions
  • Deal with high level, complex individual casework and conduct litigation arising in the area of responsibility, without the need for counsel
  • Consider and give advice on committee and other similar reports and attend committees
