Description
- Provide expert legal advice to support business operations.
- Assist in the production and updating of internal and external written policies, procedures, and guidance on legal and regulatory issues affecting the firm.
- Assisting the Partner and COLP with the numerous daily queries which arise regarding the SRA Code, professional standards and best practice, ethics, conflicts, financial crime, supplier contracts and firm and third party terms and conditions.
- Reviewing data protection policies and procedures on at least an annual basis and updating as necessary and assisting with data protection queries and processes.
- Writing and amending terms of engagement with clients in all the jurisdictions in which the firm operates.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks to protect the firm.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and firm policies.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their legal needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Participate in legal projects as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on SRA legal developments.
Profile
A successful Senior Risk Lawyer should have:
- A degree in law and a professional qualification as a lawyer.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the legal industry.
- Strong knowledge of SRA laws, regulations, and practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle complex legal matters effectively and efficiently.
