Risk Business Analyst Team Lead – Financial Services – Up to £110k – City of London - HybridOverview:We are currently partnered with one of the world’s leading financial institutions who are seeking an experienced Risk Business Analyst Team Lead to join their Technology Innovation Management team. This is a high-impact role where you will be accountable for overseeing the Risk portfolio, leading a team of consultants and permanent staff, and ensuring successful delivery of key technology and change initiatives. You will serve as a strategic partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance and alignment with broader company objectives.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key liaison for Risk within the Technology and Change function, ensuring delivery success across the Change portfolio and representing Technology in wider business engagements.
  • Lead the Risk portfolio, collaborating with business and change leads to secure optimal resourcing and manage project delivery.
  • Manage both consultants and permanent staff, ensuring clarity on deliverables, resolving issues promptly, and overseeing hiring, contract renewals, and resource governance.
  • Partner with the CHG project portfolio manager to ensure Risk initiatives are resourced with the right skillsets, building future capabilities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Risk processes and systems, offering solutions and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Champion AI adoption within the Business Analyst team and across the Risk portfolio.
  • Provide MI and KPIs for the BA pillar, tracking delivery success and resource utilisation.
  • Independently resolve complex issues, engaging senior stakeholders and ensuring proactive risk management.
  • Ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements, providing accurate reporting and governance.
  • Act as a hands-on Business Analyst, leading complex projects, gathering requirements, and overseeing the full project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment, support company policies, and maintain a flexible and adaptable approach based on business needs.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong experience in managing senior technology teams within a top-tier bank or consultancy.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, international projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, and delivery.
  • Expertise in software development lifecycles and business analysis.
  • Deep understanding of financial products (e.g., Bonds, Derivatives, FX, Loans) and their impact on Risk.
  • Proficiency in Murex, Markitwire, and Bloomberg, including trade lifecycle and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of Market Risk (VaR, Sensitivities, Stress Testing), Credit Risk (credit limits, exposure calculations), and Regulatory Capital requirements.
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to perform SQL queries and advanced Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve complex issues independently.
Package:
  • Up to £110,000 basic salary
  • Up to 20% discretionary bonus
