Horizon Teachers are working with an Alternative Provision based in Brent who are looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to work with their hard-working, yet challenging students starting after October half-term, for the full academic year, on a full-time basis.The school caters for both Primary and Secondary aged children and many of the students at the school have challenging behaviour and may have been excluded from mainstream school. The school provides a therapeutic approach to support and nurture children and support them according to their needs.In this Behaviour Mentor position you will be working 1:1 and within small groups to help improve the wellbeing of the students and help manage their behaviour. You will need to be passionate to quickly build rapport with the students and experience within a similar role would be desirable. This role will pay up to £550 per week.What the school are looking for in their Behaviour Mentors:
  • Carrying out behaviour management in line with the school's policies and procedures
  • Supporting pupils inside and outside the classroom.
  • Accompanying and supporting students with their academic and personal development.
  • Being proactive in the class to ensure your learning support is tailored to each child's individual need.
  • Using skills learned such as Team Teach or Manual Handling (desirable)
