About the Role:Long Term Futures is seeking a confident and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a large secondary school in Hackney. This role involves working closely with Heads of Year, welfare support teams, and external agencies to encourage positive behaviour, support educational engagement, and ensure students remain in school.

This position requires strong-minded individuals who can effectively engage with students aged 11-18, offering guidance and strategies to promote good behaviour and academic progress. There will be expectations to work both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them stay engaged in their education
  • Collaborate with Heads of Year, welfare teams, and external organisations to implement behaviour improvement strategies
  • Act as a mentor for students, promoting resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
  • Deliver 1:1 and group sessions tailored to individual student needs
  • Monitor attendance and behaviour, contributing to reports and intervention planning
  • Foster a safe and inclusive school environment, encouraging all students to achieve their potential

  • Experience working with 11-18-year-olds, particularly in behaviour management roles within schools or similar settings
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and external agencies
  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to addressing challenging behaviour
  • Proactive and adaptable with a focus on achieving positive outcomes
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
