If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join a thriving Mainstream Secondary School in Greenwich.
The Role:As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who require additional guidance with behaviour and emotional regulation. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leadership to create a positive learning environment, helping students overcome barriers to their education.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting students with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
- Implementing strategies to improve student engagement and well-being.
- Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions.
- Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
- Working collaboratively with pastoral staff and SEN teams to implement behaviour support plans.
- Building positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor.
- Encouraging and promoting resilience, confidence, and a positive school experience.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to implement them effectively.
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using initiative.
