Are you passionate about supporting young people in achieving their full potential? Do you have experience working with children and young people in a school or similar setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join a thriving Mainstream Secondary School in Greenwich.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who require additional guidance with behaviour and emotional regulation. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leadership to create a positive learning environment, helping students overcome barriers to their education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
  • Implementing strategies to improve student engagement and well-being.
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions.
  • Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
  • Working collaboratively with pastoral staff and SEN teams to implement behaviour support plans.
  • Building positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Encouraging and promoting resilience, confidence, and a positive school experience.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using initiative.
