Behaviour Mentor - 1:1 Support | Mainstream Primary School | Southwark, London (SE1) | Start Date: After February Half-Term | 95 - 110 per day, term time only

We are is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to provide 1:1 support to a child in a mainstream primary school in Southwark (SE1). The role will involve working both inside and outside of the classroom, delivering tailored behaviour support strategies and engaging in behaviour-regulated activities to help the child develop emotional resilience and positive engagement in class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 behaviour support for a child, both in class and during structured interventions outside the classroom
  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to the child's needs
  • Support the child in developing emotional regulation and positive coping mechanisms
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral staff to monitor progress and adapt support plans
  • Engage the child in structured activities that help manage behaviour and encourage social interaction
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience in a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or Pastoral Support role
  • Strong behaviour management skills and experience supporting children with SEMH needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging behaviours
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, external agencies, and parents
