Are you passionate about supporting the personal, social, and academic development of students in a secondary school setting? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join our vibrant team at Secondary School in West London.

Position Overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the personal and academic development of students. Working closely with our pastoral team, careers team, and SLT you will provide guidance, mentoring, and intervention to students who may be facing challenges or barriers to learning. Your role will be instrumental in helping students overcome obstacles, develop resilience, and reach their full potential.

Behaviour Mentor Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with students, providing a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and targeted support to students, focusing on their social, emotional, and academic well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop personalized support plans.
  • Deliver group workshops and interventions to address topics such as self-esteem, study skills, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies
  • Work closely with the pastoral team and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting student well-being and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of interventions, progress, and communications with students and relevant stakeholders.

Behaviour Mentor Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Mentor or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with students.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to the varying needs and challenges of students.
  • A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Relevant qualifications in mentoring, counseling, or youth work would be advantageous.
