A specialist school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to support students aged 3-19 years.

Position: Learning Mentor
Location: Waltham Forest
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure comprehensive support.
Monitor and report on students' progress and well-being.

Requirements - Desired but not all is essential:

Experience working with children and young people with Autism, implementing strategies to support communication, social skills, and sensory needs.
Experience supporting students with ADHD, using techniques to enhance focus, organisation, and self-regulation.
Knowledge of working with students with PMLD, providing personalised care and educational support.
Experience with adapting teaching methods to meet varied cognitive abilities.
Expertise in implementing interventions to promote emotional well-being.
Experience with using specialised teaching methods to improve literacy skills.
Knowledge of Dyspraxia, providing support for motor skills development and coordination.
Experience using assisting technologies and tailored communication methods.
