Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and diverse school community. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with SEN students, providing personalised support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create inclusive learning activities and resources tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Qualifications

  • A passion for working with children and young people with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience related to supporting individuals with SEN would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of diversity and inclusion, with a commitment to promoting equal opportunities for all students.

Day-to-Day

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for SEN students in the classroom.
  • Assist with the implementation of specialised teaching strategies and interventions to support children's learning and development.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and educational professionals to ensure the specific needs of SEN students are met.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive educational experience for all students, celebrating their diverse abilities and talents.

The positions will start as temporary and have the option to move on to permanent contacts after 12 academic weeks.
