Pastoral Mentor - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets, London

Are you passionate about supporting the emotional and social well-being of students? Do you have experience mentoring young people in a secondary school setting? LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Mentor to join a vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets, London.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students who may be facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You will be responsible for offering pastoral care, providing guidance, and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Mentor students on a 1:1 basis, helping them address emotional, social, and behavioural issues
  • Work closely with teaching staff, the pastoral team, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
  • Promote positive behaviour and a supportive, inclusive school environment
  • Monitor student progress and welfare, providing regular feedback to senior staff
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies, resilience, and self-confidence

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with young people in a secondary school or similar educational setting
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and behaviour management strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students with a range of needs
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Paid up to £125 per day, term time only
  • Based in Tower Hamlets, London - excellent transport links
