About the Role:LTF Recruitment is seeking an empathetic and committed Pastoral Mentor to support a diverse and dynamic Secondary school in Islington. This role is central to promoting positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and personal growth among students. You'll be working closely with students across all year groups, helping them navigate social, emotional, and behavioural challenges to thrive in a supportive learning environment. As a Pastoral Mentor, you will collaborate with teachers, parents, and the pastoral team to ensure each student receives the tailored support they need to feel valued, safe, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 Mentoring: Provide personalised guidance to students, helping them address personal and academic challenges
- Small Group Sessions: Lead group activities to develop teamwork, self-confidence, and emotional skills
- Behavioural Support: Implement behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture
- Collaboration with Staff: Work alongside teachers and the pastoral team to support students' well-being and address concerns
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on students' progress, contributing to pastoral and academic reviews
- Parental Engagement: Liaise with parents and guardians to maintain a unified support system for students

Preferred Qualifications:Background in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support. Understanding of safeguarding principles and behaviour management techniques.
