Behaviour Mentor Opportunity - Immediate Start in Haringey

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a vibrant secondary school in Haringey. This role starts in November and offers a chance to provide essential support to students with behavioural needs while promoting their social and emotional well-being.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one classroom support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Maintain a visible presence around the school to encourage positive behaviour.
  • Address low-level disruptions and foster a positive learning environment.
  • De-escalate behavioural incidents and help students develop self-regulation strategies.
  • Supervise students in the isolation room, ensuring they stay on task with their classwork.
  • Monitor and manage detention sessions.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, running until July 2025, with the potential to become permanent.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor or in a very similar role in a secondary school.
  • Is confident, compassionate, and firm, with the ability to set boundaries effectively.
  • Possesses strong administrative skills; familiarity with SIMS for logging student progress is a plus.
  • Is reliable, caring, and consistent, providing the stability that students need.
  • Is prepared for a physically active role, including patrolling corridors and being on-call throughout the day.
