Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a secondary school in North London to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor. This rewarding role focuses on supporting students with behavioural needs, keeping them on track academically, and providing crucial social and emotional guidance.
The RoleWe're looking for a confident, experienced Behaviour Mentor who is:
- Empathetic and assertive
- Skilled in managing challenging behaviour
- Strong in administrative tasks (knowledge of SIMS for logging student progress is a plus)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one classroom support for students
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the school to encourage positive behaviour
- Promote good behaviour and minimise low-level disruption
- Manage and de-escalate incidents, equipping students with strategies for self-regulation
- Support students in the isolation room, helping them stay focused on classwork
- Oversee and manage detention sessions
This large secondary school in Haringey has a supportive, inclusive ethos and has been rated "Good" by Ofsted. The school offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and is conveniently located on multiple bus routes, with on-site parking available for staff.
Position Details- Start Date: Immediate
- Contract: Term-time only, until July 2025
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am - 4:15 pm
- Pay: £95-£105 per day (dependent on experience)
