In this role, you will play a crucial part in their team of lawyers, providing vital support and handling a variety of tasks, including managing diaries, preparing documents, and liaising with high-net-worth clients. Your organisational skills and attention to detail will ensure this busy practice runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities:

1. Document Preparation

  • Drafting, formatting, and editing legal documents like contracts, motions, briefs, and agreements.
  • Proofreading documents for accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Preparing and filing legal documents with courts or regulatory agencies.

2. Client Interaction

  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients.
  • Answering phone calls, emails, and scheduling appointments.
  • Handling confidential information and maintaining discretion.

3. File Management

  • Maintaining and organizing physical and digital case files.
  • Managing correspondence, emails, and other documents related to cases.
  • Ensuring files are up-to-date and easy to access.

4. Scheduling and Calendar Management

  • Managing attorneys' calendars, including scheduling meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
  • Organising and coordinating travel arrangements for attorneys if needed.

5. Research

  • Conducting basic legal research to find relevant laws, cases, or precedents.
  • Gathering information for cases by reviewing files, court records, or other sources.

6. Court Procedures and Filing

  • Filing documents with the court in person or electronically.
  • Keeping track of filing deadlines and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Communicating with court clerks or opposing counsel when necessary.

7. Billing and Invoicing

  • Assisting with billing by tracking billable hours for attorneys.
  • Preparing invoices and managing payment follow-ups.
  • Handling expense reports and financial records.

8. Administrative Tasks

  • Managing office supplies, equipment, and resources.
  • Taking dictation or typing up notes for attorneys.
  • Performing general clerical tasks like photocopying, faxing, and mailing
