Ryder Reid Legal is recruiting for a dynamic Legal Secretary to join the Tax practice of one of our prestigious, global law firm clients on a 12 month fixed term contract at their London office. In this role, you'll perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for firm attorneys. You'll maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff, ensuring confidentiality of client matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively and establish good working relationships.
  • Anticipate the needs of attorneys with excellent attention to detail.
  • Follow document processing methods, create, spell check, edit, and proofread work product.
  • Transcribe from handwritten materials and dictation.
  • Maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems.
  • Organize and prioritize telephone calls, mail, documents, and projects.
  • Schedule and organize meetings, conferences, and departmental activities.
  • Book travel/accommodation arrangements and process travel expenses.
  • Maintain e-filing and records management systems.
  • Open new files, maintain client and general files, and prepare files for storage.
  • Update client contacts using the Client Relationship Management system (CRM).
  • Ensure timely entry of lawyers weekly timesheets.
  • Provide administrative support for partners and attorneys.
  • Work closely with administrative support staff and provide additional support during absences.
  • Perform overload document work requests, filing, and photocopying.
  • Participate in team, departmental, and Firm-wide meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 2 years' legal secretarial experience.
  • Excellent English language and grammar skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Visio a plus.
