One of the UK’s most innovative and talked about law firms is looking for a creative bid and proposals specialist, who is motivated by success, to join their vibrant, dynamic and award-winning Marketing and Business Development team who are currently enjoying an upwards trajectory that shows no sign of slowing down.

Working either remotely, with attendance in London as and when required, or based in the firm’s London office, you will be joining a small but powerful Marketing and Business Development team which works on a range of projects to raise the profile of the firm and is not afraid to develop bespoke technology systems to drive efficiencies and output, whilst also having a real impact on business success. The firm’s proposition and benefits are highly compelling for clients, meaning they have an excellent track record when it comes to winning business, but the firm are now seeking an experienced legal services Bids & Proposals Manager to take this to the next level. Working alongside the Business Development Manager and with support from other members of the team, including one direct report, you will drive forward business development by identifying opportunities, creating and delivering the highest-quality bids, tenders, proposals and pitches, managing the process entirely with various practice areas and lawyers throughout the firm. Keeping up to date with market best practice and developments and sharing knowledge with the wider Business Development team, the successful applicant will lead on bids and tenders from initial opportunity and PQQs through to drafting, submission, post-submission feedback and reporting, ensuring all timescales and deliverables are managed. Identifying potential opportunities for lawyers and their relevant practice areas and managing input from experts across the firm, you will identify individual evaluation criteria for each tender and will be expected to develop and write persuasive and tailored proposals that address client needs and highlight the firm’s strengths. The role holder will be responsible for designing compelling presentations which allow the firm to stand out from competitors and, when necessary, will need to provide coaching to improve the performance of pitch teams. In addition, you will be tasked with the development of proposal templates to enable the Business Development team and fee earners to self-serve and will coordinate contract review and other compliance checks.

With personal gravitas and excellent communication skills, the ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with proven bids experience gained at a senior level within the legal industry or a professional services firm. The Bids & Proposals Manager should possess high level writing and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously whilst working under pressure. Strong brand understanding and interpretation will be essential to success and previous experience of InDesign will be highly advantageous.
