Description

Role scope: Support the provision of:

a) legal and commercial, and wider business support advice and guidance service to body Members.

b) in-house legal support service to the corporate group - including information compliance.

c) influence and represent the organisation on business-related industry issues.

Within the strategy, operation and implementation of the above deliver the role of Legal & Commercial Adviser, to safeguard the organisational values of:

* exceptional customer service.

* cultivate innovation & collaboration

* Develop and implement the strategy for business support services for Members. Including development and delivery of the legal & business, employment and health & safety advisory function.

* Collaborate to improve, develop and deliver and implement corporate governance strategy and corporate group legal support (including projects to improve our resilience, IP tracking/monitoring/protection, contract management and information compliance systems).

* Support the development and maintenance of key stakeholder relationships for business issues affecting Members within the stakeholder and media landscape.

* Support the development and implementation of the intellectual capital, policy positions, core narrative and representational opportunities for business issues affecting the organisational scope.

Profile

* Legally trained, commercially astute and pragmatic in the delivery of advice and drafting.

* 2 years' experience in commercial and/or construction contracts role.

* An ability to manage legal risk - understanding pressure points, strategy and objectives for businesses and communicating the risks and legal issues involved to commercial decision-makers so they can make informed strategic choices.

* Proficient in legal research skills and able to manage projects from inception to delivery.

* Professional written, oral and presentation communication skills.

* Understanding of commercial contracts and experience from within a wider business environment..

* Proficient IT skills: familiarity and experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Teams) is essential as you will be expected to be proficient in these packages. We have business support, but expect our people to be self-starting.
