Job Title: Commercial Property Paralegal

Location: Middlesex (commutable from Pinner, Harrow, Ruislip, Stanmore, Croxley Green and Watford)

Department: Commercial Property

Salary: £25k - £35k, dependant on experience

Job Purpose: To provide legal support to the firm's Commercial Property Department, assisting Partners and Solicitors with various tasks related to commercial property transactions. This role involves managing pre and post-completion aspects, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Interaction: Take initial instructions from clients via telephone and email and maintain regular communication to update them on matter progress and costs.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and process SDLT forms, Land Registry applications, completion statements, invoices, and other transactional documents such as mortgage deeds and leases.
  • Administrative Support: Undertake general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, filing, and maintaining accurate diary records.
  • File Management: Open client files, ensure accurate capture of key information, and manage deed storage.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Anti Money Laundering regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Time Recording: Accurately record all matter-related time using the firm's case management system.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a commercial property paralegal is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage deeply with clients and professional referrers.
  • Attributes: Positive and proactive approach, ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity, and a cheerful personality.

Objectives (KPIs):

  • Achieve daily time recording, billing, recoverability, and debt collection targets.
  • Complete monthly file review targets and any corrective actions.
  • Deliver outstanding client service at all times.
