Description

The role in UK & Ireland Legal Team (specifically within the Real Estate sub-team), involves being the primary legal counsel responsible for all transactional elements of the EV roll-out, and involves working closely with both the Construction team as well as the legal and commercial teams at, their partner for the EV project.

What will my accountabilities be?

* You will report into the Legal Counsel leading the EV roll-out project, but will be the primary day to day contact for external contacts

* You will manage a busy caseload, and will be responsible for handling all EV transactions relating to locations in England and Wales. This will include negotiating superior landlord consents including licences to underlet and licences to alter, drafting replies to enquiries on title, liaising with franchisee solicitors, working closely with their partners and providing general support to the business on the EV project

* You will liaise with external lawyers in other jurisdictions (Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland), dealing with queries on all transactions in these countries

* You will be responsible for all post-completion matters relating to EV transactions, including SDLT returns and Land Registry applications, including supervising the Legal Assistant in respect of these tasks

* You will also undertake asset management transactions including lease renewals, reversionary leases and underlettings, disposals, licences for alterations, assignment, underletting

* You will provide support to senior lawyers within the team on new store acquisition transactions, including carry out initial title reviews for new stores

* General case management of the project - keeping internal reports/database updated/ attending weekly calls with the wider business and their partners.

Profile

A successful Paralegal should have:

  • A solid education background in law.
  • Experience in Commercial Property Law
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and other related tools.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
