A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an Investment Funds Paralegal to join a top US law firm in the City of London on an initial 12-month contract.The successful Paralegal can look forward to joining a top-ranked team which is well-known for its impressive private equity and investment funds offering. Their enviable client list includes the world’s largest private equity firms and asset managers.The Funds team at this US firm advise on a wide range of fund-related work, including private equity, private debt, real estate, mezzanine, venture, credit, infrastructure, funds of funds, distressed and special situations, and activist funds, as well as on the structuring of carried interest, co-investment and other incentive schemes, secondary transactions, and fund restructurings . The team also possess a specialism in direct lending funds, along with lobbying regulators for improvements in the banking monopoly regimes around Europe on behalf of their clients.The role:As an Investment Funds Paralegal, your responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing, filing and circulating countersigned documents to clients, investors and administrators
  • Preparing and submitting Companies House filings
  • Drafting corporate authorisations
  • Liaising with specialist regulatory counsel
  • Preparing and reviewing fund documents
  • Maintaining trackers and checklists on various aspects of the funds process for a large number of investors
  • Preparing and managing virtual data rooms
  • Carrying out winding up / insolvency searches
  • Preparing opinion and closing bibles
About you:The successful Investment Funds Paralegal will bring 6 months’ prior legal experience in Corporate, Funds or Finance law, gained either in-house or in private practice. You will also possess a stellar academic record and be educated to LLB/PGDL level (or equivalent).In return:As is the norm in US law firms, the hours will be long but in return, you will work on high-calibre deals and receive an impressive salary of £40,000 plus overtime.
