Overview of the Role:
Pertemps is seeking a motivated and self-driven Legal Assistant: Litigation and Social Care to join the expanding team at the London Borough of Harrow. This temporary role offers a competitive pay rate of up to 15.39per hour, excellent training, career development support, and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).

Main Purpose of a Legal Assistant: Litigation and Social Care:
  • To support a team of lawyers covering some of the following: civil and criminal litigation and children's and/or adults social care and education work.
  • To contribute to ensuring the legal team and the Council are aware of, and trained in, relevant developments in law and policy and receives guidance on their implementation in good time to plan their responses.
  • When required to carry out work for, and under the control of, HB Public Law Limited, the Alternative Business Structure which has been established by Harrow Council to deliver legal services to certain third-party organisations
  • To have conduct of routine cases including civil and criminal litigation and children's and adults' social care and education matters, with appropriate minimal supervision.

Requirements:
  • 6 months - 1 years of experience working in a legal setting
  • Willing to undergo a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Substantial experience working in a legal environment in lieu of qualification.
