It's an inspiring time to join the team!Scope Of The RoleWe are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join a prominent legal team. The ideal candidate will predominantly support the Group General Counsel and as required the broader Group Legal Team by managing administrative tasks, preparing legal documents, conducting research and assisting in various activities within the Group Legal Team. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism. The role would ideally suit an individual who is proactive and can pre-empt the Group General Counsel's needs and facilitate efficiencies.Job Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Group General Counsel, including diary management, scheduling meetings, managing calendars, co-ordinating communications including direct response to correspondence.
  • Prepare, review and file legal documents such as contracts and legal correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to assist the Group General Counsel and legal team members as required.
  • Manage legal administrative tools, assist with the management and updating of the Group Legal Intranet Site.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal training materials, presentations, compilation of detailed reports (including management information) and associated documentation for the Group Legal Team.
  • Assisting with invoicing and associated activities for the Group Legal Team.
  • Maintenance of case logs and files for legal matters including litigation.
  • Assist with the execution of commercial agreements, NDA's and other contracts in accordance with the Group Legal Team's policies and procedures.
  • The individual may also be required to carry out other duties from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Strong academic results including 2:1 or above at degree level
  • Legal degree and legal practice course preferable but not mandatory.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written, adaptable style and skill full in liaising with internal and external parties.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organised, effective filing skills, legal documentation management, time management, self-motivated, has initiative and ability to troubleshoot
  • Strong computer literacy and IT skills with high level of proficiency with MS Office, notably Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Adaptable and collaborative with legal team members and other internal senior stakeholders and individuals within the Group.
  • Able to work under pressure and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and can prioritise complex and competing demands and remain calm under pressure.
  • Unquestionable commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Legal background desirable and an analytical mind, open to learning
