We are seeking a Legal Project Manager to join a dynamic team. If you have project management experience in a professional services environment and want to apply your skills in a law firm setting, this is an exciting opportunity to drive efficiency, innovation, and value in legal service delivery.

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Project Manager

  • End-to-End Project Management: Lead legal matters from inception to completion, working closely with senior stakeholders to define scope, establish governance, manage budgets, allocate resources, monitor risks, and track financial performance.
  • Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Partners, matter teams, and clients, ensuring effective communication and alignment with project goals.
  • Performance & Profitability Analysis: Assess planned vs actual performance at a profitability and margin level, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Process & Technology Innovation: Identify and implement best practices in legal project management, integrating new tools, technologies, and workflows to enhance service delivery.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside Business Development, Innovation, Finance, IT, and Practice Development teams to ensure seamless integration of legal project management strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Training: Develop LPM methodologies, provide tools, templates, and tech support to legal teams, and champion firm-wide adoption of legal project management principles.

Skills & Attributes of the Legal Project Manager

  • Project Management Expertise: Strong background in project or process management within a professional services firm (or Legal Project Management experience in a global law firm).
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to assess and improve project performance, streamline operations, and introduce innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management: Skilled in building relationships, influencing senior decision-makers, and driving collaboration across departments.
  • Financial & Budgeting Acumen: Strong numeracy skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Tech-Savvy & Detail-Oriented: Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and a keen interest in legal technology.
  • Proactive & Organised: Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
