Role Overview

The successful candidate will provide broad support to the Legal, Compliance, and HR functions, with a strong focus on:

  • Drafting and filing company documents
  • Advising on data protection and employment matters (including international aspects)
  • Preparing client agreements based on company templates

Additionally, they will assist the Legal team with ongoing business support and ad hoc projects.

Minimum Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in the financial services sector, with exposure to corporate governance and data protection
  • Degree-level education

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a risk-based approach to problem-solving

  • Confidence in working with colleagues at all levels across different business units
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Practical Law) and Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience as a paralegal in a regulated financial services environment
  • Interest in corporate/commercial law and/or data protection, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations
  • Familiarity with company law and company secretarial compliance
  • Knowledge of FCA rules and commercial contract law principles
  • Basic understanding of anti-money laundering, anti-bribery, and due diligence requirements
Key Responsibilities

The paralegal will provide support across multiple legal and business functions, including data protection, client relations, governance, compliance, and HR. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining company registers, drafting resolutions, board minutes, and governance documents for UK, SA, and BVI entities, and handling regulatory filings
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, managing data privacy inquiries, breaches, DSARs, and assisting with policy implementation
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting agreements with service providers, NDAs, and other commercial contracts
  • Supporting the preparation of client agreements, including assisting sales and client service teams in negotiations and liaising with client legal advisors
  • Keeping company template documents up to date
  • Conducting legal research as required
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and providing weekly updates relevant to the business
  • Assisting HR with contracts, performance reviews, terminations, legal inductions, and updates to staff policies
  • Managing legal work-in-progress records and tracking key deadlines
  • Handling ad hoc legal and compliance queries from the business
  • Managing KYC/RFI and audit-related requests, along with other administrative tasks
  • Undertaking additional duties as required
