- Client and Partner Support: Handle a high volume of incoming phone calls, serving as the first point of contact for clients, local councils, family members, social workers, court officials, and other contacts. You will also need to make outbound calls to provide case updates and gather necessary information. Strong telephone skills, a professional manner, and the ability to handle calls confidently are crucial.
- Document Management: Assist with online filing of probate documents and other legal paperwork with the court. Comfort with digital systems and computer use is helpful, as their partners may need some support with these tasks.
- Court Preparation: Help prepare for two upcoming court cases in January, including organizing and managing court bundles.
- Email and Calendar Management: Use Outlook to manage scheduling, client communication, and task coordination.
- General Office Support: Be available to assist partners and colleagues with general office tasks, helping ensure a smooth-running and collaborative environment.
- Some experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar support role is beneficial, but they are happy to train the right candidate.
- Educational Background: A law degree, law conversion course, or ongoing studies towards the Solicitors
- Qualifying Examination (SQE) is a plus but not essential.
- Excellent telephone skills with the ability to confidently handle and make calls, engaging professionally and empathetically with clients and other contacts.
- Basic organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable using computers, including Outlook and basic digital filing tools.
- A friendly and helpful attitude with a willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in Court of Protection, probate, or preparing court bundles is a plus, but not required.
