A top legal 500 law firm based in the city is seeking an experienced Paralegal, paying up to £26,600 plus benefits, to join their biggest and fastest growing teams in the business.

The Paralegal role will offer hybrid working, 3 days in the office 2 days from home after a period of training.

The role will sit within the Housing Management and Property Litigation team and will be supporting senior lawyers/ fee earners as well as building your own caseloads. The position will involve providing advice and assistance to Registered Providers of Social Housing and private landlords in a broad range of matters including possession proceedings based on rent arrears, breach of tenancy, anti-social behaviour and unauthorised occupiers, injunction proceedings, disrepair claims and claims against leaseholders including forfeiture.

Duties will include the following:

  • Assist solicitors and other fee earners in the day to day running of files
  • Draft and prepare claim forms, pleadings and witness statements for the County Court
  • Efficiently manage a large number of deadlines relating to a variety of cases at any one time
  • Prepare trial bundles
  • Liaise with Court prior to trials to ensure necessary paperwork is sent and received
  • Attending Court to assist Barristers and other fee-earners
  • Conduct advocacy in the County Court on routine matters
  • Assist with enquiries made by clients, Barristers and other fee earners, chasing paperwork

The ideal candidate will be LPC qualified and have a specific interest within the Housing Litigation sector. Ideally you will have housing management, leasehold management or property litigation experience, but this is not essential. A real can-do attitude and look to get stuck into the role - potentially using this as a springboard for a training contract further down the line in a year or so. Over 80 percent of trainees are accepted internally within the firm, working in paralegal roles.
