This prestigious, London-based law firm is renowned for its elite corporate, M&A, and financial law expertise, advising major global clients. We are supporting a fantastic opportunity to join this firm as a Senior Legal Project Manager, where you’ll play a key role in enhancing the delivery of legal matters through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation. Initially a 12 month FTC there is the possibility longer term opportunities.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Legal Project Manager
- Efficient Project Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end management of legal matters, ensuring they are delivered efficiently while challenging and exploring alternative approaches.
- Legal Project Management Tools & Processes: Implement and maintain project management frameworks to streamline legal workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior partners, clients, and third parties to scope projects, create financial agreements, allocate resources, and identify suitable technologies.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Lead kick-off meetings, team briefings, and ongoing project reviews, ensuring all workstreams stay aligned with client requirements.
- Financial Oversight & Resourcing: Monitor project budgets, optimise resources, and drive continuous improvements in efficiency and value.
- Client & Business Development: Support pitches and client presentations, showcasing how Legal Project Management (LPM) enhances service delivery.
- Training & Best Practice Implementation: Deliver training and workshops to embed a firm-wide approach to LPM, both internally and for clients.
- Trusted Advisor: Act as a key advocate for Legal Project Management within the firm, helping to drive its strategic goals and innovation agenda.
Skills & Attributes of the Senior Legal Project Manager
- Proven experience in Legal Project Management, client-facing Project Management, or Management Consultancy, ideally within a law firm or in-house legal team.
- Professional Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, AMP, PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- A strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the value of LPM and challenge traditional ways of working.
- A collaborative and proactive team player with a problem-solving mindset.
