Senior Legal Technologist - Legatics, Definely, Datasite, LUPL, Jigsaw, HighQ, of Generative AI, Document Automation, Legal Technology

Our leading international law firm are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Technologist (Legatics, Definely, Datasite, LUPL, Jigsaw, HighQ, of Generative AI, Document Automation, Legal Technology) on a permanent basis to promote, grow and support usage of all Legal Technology within the firm and with clients. This will include working on building bots and agents using Generative AI tools.

With strong buy in and investment from the partnership, the firm have been forming their new Advanced Client Solutions team over the last twelve months. The team works with lawyers and business services in all areas with the view to turning the firm into one of the most demonstrably forward-thinking law firms in the city by the end of 2025.

Once at capacity, the function will be 20 people and is made up of the following teams.

  • Legal Project Management
  • Legal Technology
  • Process Improvement
  • Solution Development

This role will sit within the Legal Technology team and will report into the Head of Legal Technology.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote, grow and support usage of all of our Legal Technology within the firm and with clients. This will include working on building bots and agents using Generative AI tools.
  • A strong and enthusiastic advocate for the use of Legal Technology developing clear processes for the introduction and embedding of Legal Technology in new areas.
  • Manage projects and tasks in direct response to business needs within the firm, delivering within agreed timeframes and keeping to expected budget. This will include supporting and guiding a number of trainees on their own innovation projects.
  • Act as first line contact for users should they need assistance with day-to-day technology queries with particular focus supporting our Business Advisory and Transactional Services practice (which includes Banking, Commercial, Corporate, Employment, Immigration and Tax teams) and related technologies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the firm ensuring value from existing software as well as monitoring the market for new tools and developments, and contributing to discussions on future investment. This will also include discussions with external clients.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning & Development and the Head of Legal Technology to develop training and best practice around Legal Technology for lawyers and others in the firm.
  • Work collaboratively with IT and the Solution Development team to develop practical solutions for client facing business issues.
  • Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.

Person Specification

  • Experience and proficiency in the use of Legatics, Definely, Datasite, LUPL, Jigsaw, HighQ or similar and e-signature tools supporting Corporate, Commercial and other transactional matters essential
  • Knowledge of Generative AI, document automation and low-code app building tools, eg Fliplet an advantage
  • A clear aptitude for working with new and emerging technologies
  • Experience in managing and delivering projects
  • Previous experience in legal technology or in an administrative role supporting transactional legal matters within a law firm
  • The ability to develop a deep understanding of how lawyers work in order to advise on how Legal Technology can improve existing processes or client experience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, professionally, and diplomatically across departments
  • Credible, articulate and comfortable with systems, data and analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
