Trademark Paralegal

If you are a Trademark Paralegal with experience of prosecutions, then this role supporting a IPMT team will see you involved in a whole range of duties.

This department are involved in brand management from prosecution to enforcement, working with global brands to diminish counterfeiting, and defending corporate identities.

This fascinating role would suit a paralegal with a CITMA, although the firm would be willing to sponsor this qualification in time.

Some of the key duties will include:

  • Trademark and design formalities at UKIPO and WIPO, to include renewals, applications and all prosecutions
  • Liaising with Partner and Lawyers internationally within the IPMT practice area
  • Processing all incoming communications from UKIPO, WIPO and foreign counsels, docket deadlines, distributing them
  • Providing administrative support including producing status reports for trademarks and designs, managing foreign IP counsels' invoices, electronic filing of correspondence and assisting with data entry and maintaining our IP database
  • Collating trademark search reports to enable our lawyers to provide advice to clients on availability and registrability of trademarks.

To be considered for this role you will require the following:

  • At least 1 years' experience in trademark prosecution, design formalities or trademark and design renewals
  • Able to manage a significant workload that is deadline dependent
  • Experience of trademark portfolio management tools (such as Corsearch or Anaqua for example) would be a distinct advantage, although training will be given.
