Librarian

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, experienced librarian for a secondary school in Waltham Forest for a September start.

As the school's librarian, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library and promoting its core services. You will lead in creating a positive reading environment for students, encouraging them to develop a love for reading and fostering their academic development through various resources.

You will work closely with staff members to ensure that the library provides appropriate resources for independent learning and research activities. Your efforts will contribute to the overall quality of teaching and learning across the academy.

You will also work with senior and middle leaders to develop strategies to support learning and will be working closely with the school Literacy coordinator.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional qualifications relevant to the role
• At least 2 year's experience working in a library within an educational establishment or an information centre
• Ideally have previous management experience
• Experience of working with/supervising young people, including behaviour management
• Familiar with library ICT systems

This is a term-time-only role, with working hours from 8.00am to 4.00pm (TBC), and a 30-minute lunch break. The salary for this position is competitive and will range from £17.50 to £20 per hour, depending on your experience.
