About the Role:
As Senior Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning applications, offering expert advice to clients, and ensuring successful outcomes through the increasingly complex planning process. The role will involve working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including local authorities, clients, and designers, to deliver well-managed development projects across London and the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage planning applications from inception through to approval.
- Provide clear and effective planning advice to clients, designers, and stakeholders.
- Liaise with local authorities and other key parties to secure positive planning outcomes.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Stay abreast of changes to planning policies and regulations, advising clients accordingly.
- Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise and promoting professional development.
- Assist in business development efforts, cultivating strong client relationships and contributing to new opportunities.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in a planning role, ideally within a consultancy.
- Chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning law and policies, with the ability to apply them in practice.
- Proven experience managing a range of development projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to planning challenges.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
