Our client, a successful Removals Company based in North West London are currently to appoint a Storage Manager to oversee the storage team.
As Storage Manager you will be responsible for managing the storage team, monitoring team performance and ensuring all SLAs are met whilst motivating.
A typical day will involve processing customer account activity, including customer billing, invoicing, storage, and accurate warehouse records, as well as supporting the warehouse team and other departments with inputting data from inbound/outbound delivery movements accurately. The role involves strong collaboration with other operational areas, ensuring the business operates comprehensive financial controls.
Storage Manager duties include:
- Day-to-day management of the administration and associated staff within the storage team and other project-related functions within other departments effectively and efficiently.
- Communicating storage strategy and deadlines, whilst adhering to health and safety practices and company policies/procedures.
- Communicating policies/procedures to the storage team and ensure adherence.
- Managing the storage team and their annual diaries; managing any queries they may have related to storage.
- Ensuring that billing is completed in a timely manner every month for accurate reporting for the finance department.
- Accomplishing department objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating department activities.
- Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Manage storage accounts within the predefined Company Credit Control Policy.
- Efficiently handle external and third-party invoice verification and escalation.
- Anticipate and plan resource workloads for upcoming projects, storage jobs, reporting, and other administrative requirements.
- Participate in inventory reconciliation.
- Actively ensure adherence to processes and procedures for movements into storage, inspections, and deliveries out of storage.
- Monitor projects by tracking activity, resolving issues, publishing progress reports, and recommending actionable solutions.
- Suggest process improvements to management using analytics to support recommendations.
- Actively participate in the documentation and implementation of approved changes.
- Oversee physical paperwork management and promote a paperless office environment.
- Develop recommendations to improve storage, reporting, administration, and other business areas.
- Collaborate with management to create informative, actionable, and repeatable reports highlighting relevant storage trends and identifying growth opportunities.
- Report office progress to senior management and collaborate to enhance office operations and procedures.
