Transport Manager – Middlesex

A leading company in Middlesex is seeking a proactive and solution-focused Transport Manager to join their team. This hands-on role involves daily transport planning with a strong emphasis on enhancing operational efficiency and profitability by optimising the vehicle fleet and coordinating staff effectively. The successful candidate will play a key role in the business to ensure high standards of vehicle maintenance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement solutions to operational challenges, improving efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee daily fleet and crew operations, ensuring optimal performance and effective transport and diary planning.
  • Maintain vehicle standards, staffing levels, and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure vehicles meet company standards, coordinating with contractors for necessary repairs and services.
  • Maintain strict compliance with driving regulations, working time directives, and all relevant company policies and legislation.
  • Manage depot operations, focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and cleanliness.

Requirements:

  • CPC National and International qualifications are essential.
  • Proven experience in managing transport or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of the removals and storage industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A deep understanding of transport regulations.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A committed, reliable, and adaptable team player.
  • Strong task prioritisation skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
