Transport Manager

Location - London & South-East

Salary - Negotiable

We are successful, independent waste management and recycling company and are currently looking to recruit a Transport Manager to manage and maintain our in-house fleet operation and collection services. Experience in a similar role and industry are essential.

Transport Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the routes of all Company vehicles
  • To oversee all aspects of planned and unplanned vehicle maintenance to reduced time that the vehicles are off the road.
  • To ensure that all relevant vehicles comply with the obligations outlined in the Company’s Operators’ License, especially with regard to vehicle defect reporting, vehicle servicing, safety inspections and all vehicle records.
  • Maintain a network of external suppliers and ensure cost efficiency.
  • To ensure that the vehicle workshop is operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ordering parts and spares in line with the Fitters requirements.

Staff management requirements:

  • To manage all drivers and oversee their development.
  • To ensure that all personnel comply with Company Policy and Procedures at all times.
  • Maintain clear communications between all employees and departments within remit and across Company.
  • To identify and implement training needs as required.
  • To carry out disciplinarians when required

The following requirements are essential:

  • HGV1 License Holder
  • Valid CPC

The right candidate will be expected to establish good working relationships with third party contractors, engaging and co-coordinating support during peak periods and for specialist needs. The candidate will also be expected to make every effort to enhance efficiency and control costs, whilst maintaining safety standards and quality of service.

You will also be tasked with creating a positive and productive working environment so good communication skills and a can do attitude are essential.
