- Claims responsibility for a portfolio of large and complex claims, where they provide subject matter expertise
- Adjusting and resolving claims to optimal resolution by utilising creativity, technical skills, and sound judgement
- Ensuring that claims exposures are recognised and that claims are promptly evaluated and appropriately reported internally and externally
- Ensures escalation of claims to Senior Management and stakeholders that fall within the escalation criteria
- Acting as point person and technical expert for assigned product lines: liaising with stakeholders, attending UW/Actuarial meetings, providing claims portfolio reports/feedback, creating/implementing claims management solutions to key accounts, assisting with policy wordings and other portfolio tasks that may be required
- Reporting on the large loss portfolios or lines of business as assigned: this will include the preparation and presentation of Watchlist reports, Line of Business Reports, monthly large loss updates and ad hoc reports that may be required
- Appoint and control adjusters, solicitors and other experts as required, to ensure timely intervention and mitigation of claims
- Providing technical support and training to more junior member of the claims team.
- Ensure compliance with Loyd's minimum standards and all regulatory and statutory requirements relating to claims handling, in particular TCF
- Strong experience and technical knowledge of Energy claims, London insurance company OR Lloyd’s Syndicate experience is essential
- Working knowledge of London market systems such as ECF2
- Knowledge of FCA / PRA and Loyd's rules and guidelines
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload and meeting deadlines
