From bodily injury claims arising in the Gulf of Mexico with reserves in excess of $100M, through to high profile Liability cases across Asia, this is a superb opportunity to work on a truly fascinating caseload of challenging claims. Being regarded as one of the world’s preeminent carriers across Marine, Energy & Transportation risks, this company generally acts as the lead insurer on over 50% of the accounts it underwrites, thus giving you a heightened level of exposure than in most firms. Given these are complex businesses with extensive Liability risks, they give rise to an incredibly broad range of exceptionally high value claims.As it is regarded as, 'the insurer of choice’ for many blue-chip businesses within this fascinating niche, the company has forged an excellent reputation for the technical ability of its staff, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to underwriting, and its nimble, client-centric approach.Here, you will be granted a great deal of autonomy to proactively manage your own caseload of Liability claims, in accordance with the claims handling and reserving philosophy.You will deliver a fast, effective and service-led approach to claims handling, whilst keeping internal and external stakeholders appraised of developments in an transparent and honest fashion, ensuring expectations are managed throughout.You will also be expected to produce and report a range of detailed management information, as well as reports on individual losses and wider claims trends that are identified.You’ll work in a highly collaborative fashion, building sound working relationships with colleagues from across the Underwriting, Reinsurance & Actuarial Functions (and beyond) to ensure a consistent level of client service. For example, this could include providing client feedback, attending underwriting meetings and providing opinions on policy wordings.You must also commit to keeping abreast of industry developments and keeping your technical skills up to date in order to continually deliver an exceptional level of client service.As so many of the claims originate in the United States, such as Up & Down Stream Energy losses or businesses within the wider Power industry supply chain, it is essential that you have a good understanding of the nuances (and pitfalls!) of the highly litigious North American legal / insurance market.This forward-thinking insurer is an advocate of flexible-working, and in this hybrid role, you will be welcome to work from home 2-3 days per week.You must have solid experience of injury and liability claims, coupled with a detailed knowledge of at least one of the following sectors - Marine, Power / Energy, or Transportation & Logistics.
