We are seeking a Senior Marine Claims Adjuster to join the claims team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an extremely well regarded Lloyd's Syndicate and help to grow this book of business, whilst further developing your skillset and experience.

A highly attractive and significant salary and package is on offer for this position. Transparent information on salary will be given to you upon first consultation with our managing consultant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling complex Cargo, Specie, Hull and Marine Liability claims within authority.
  • Liaising with Underwriters and updating them on claims developments, as well as assisting in the preparation and delivery of the monthly claims report.
  • Liaising with the Outwards Reinsurance team so that they are aware of developments on significant claims which may impact reinsurances.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing the initial set up of claims entries, and ensuring that the Claims Management system entries for complex claims are up to date.
  • Liaising with underwriters, brokers and loss adjusters to update reserves and obtain reports.
  • Providing support on major losses (including attending claims meetings).
  • Assist in the preparation of regular claims reports to inform senior management and underwriters of large loss developments.
  • Assisting with catastrophe management in preparing reports and investigating exposure on accounts deemed to be impacted.
  • Assisting the Director of Claims in monitoring the performance of the claims management outsource service provider.

Key Requirements

  • Experience of managing Marine Claims is essential, ideally within a Lloyd’s syndicate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
