Assistant Design Manager Job in Brixton, London

Our client has a new Assistant Design Manager job available to support their Design Management Team in delivering exceptional architectural projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across various RIBA stages, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Based in the heart of Brixton, this RIBA Chartered architectural firm, specialise predominantly in large-scale, high-end residential design. However, their work is split into 4 main sectors: commercial, residential, hotels, and master planning, across the East of England and London. This employee-owned practice of 90 staff have ambition, encourage personal development, and are passionate about high-quality design.

They now have a role for an Assistant Design Manager to join the team and while experience as a Design Manager is preferred, it's not essential. Training and support will be provided to help you develop in this exciting role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design management team and project leads to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

  • Use Revit on a daily basis

  • Assist in developing project programmes and maintaining key milestones.

  • Support the coordination of design and construction phases, ensuring project intent is upheld.

  • Prepare and manage essential project documentation such as execution plans, schedules, and registers.

  • Participate in quality assurance checks and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Assist with project invoicing and tracking financial performance.

  • Contribute to fee proposals and review project appointments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A formal qualification in Architecture, Project Management, Engineering, or Building Surveying (or equivalent experience)

  • Familiarity with UK planning, building regulations, and RIBA Work stages is essential

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience

  • Proficiency in Revit , Powerproject, Rapport3, Deltek, CMap, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
