We require a DV clearedMIR Reader Receiver to cover an existing workload within Counter Terrorism Policing, based in Empress State Building (Hybrid working).

This is an interim position for an initial 12 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Key Tasks:

  • Receive, read and assesses documentation entering the investigation.
  • Identify and prioritise lines of enquiry.
  • Prioritise and raise actions to task investigators.
  • Quality assure documentation entering the investigation, raise actions to rectify.
  • Ensure documents are stored and marked according to GSC guidance.
  • Attend SIO briefings / brief SIO on investigation.
  • Prioritise workloads ensuring actions are raised and returned in given timescales.
  • Assess and mark documents for registration highlighting content to be indexed by HOLMES indexers.
  • Record summary of documents.
  • Deputise for the HOLMES Office Manager.
  • Work with case officer to build comprehensive case files.
  • Give evidence at criminal courts and tribunals.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

  • Hold active DV level clearance.
  • HOLMES Reader / Receiver trained.
  • A good knowledge of criminal investigations and associated legislation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Liaise confidently with external partners, members of the public and other organisations.
  • Ability to use self-initiative and have confidence in making decisions.
  • Ability to deal with large volumes of information, across multiple operations, with the ability to prioritise tasks and plan and organise them effectively.
  • Willingness to be trained in the Altia Scanning software package provided in house.

This role offers a competitive salary of £24.98 per hour PAYE / £31.85 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR35) and you’ll be working via Reed who offer great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers and more as well as weekly pay.
