Maintenance Officer

Join our team as a Maintenance Officer and play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, employees, and visitors. This position involves a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and safety tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks including fire alarm tests, water temperature checks, and emergency lighting tests.
  • Perform health & safety checks in coordination with Customer Services.
  • Provide first-line response to reactive maintenance needs.
  • Carry out minor repairs, decorating tasks, and plumbing repairs.
  • Inspect plant rooms and boilers, ensuring they are in good condition.
  • Maintain and safely store equipment.
  • Perform electrical appliance tests and use common hand and power tools for maintenance.
  • Inspect grounds and facilities, undertaking janitorial and porterage duties as needed.
  • Maintain digital records and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Monitor communal areas for maintenance or cleaning issues.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Manage adverse weather conditions by clearing snow and gritting paths.
  • Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in risk assessment or a relevant health & safety qualification.
  • Proven background in building maintenance, cleaning, or caretaking.
  • Qualification in a building trade or facilities management.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety in a building environment.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and maintain accurate records.
