Join our team as a Maintenance Officer and play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, employees, and visitors. This position involves a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and safety tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks including fire alarm tests, water temperature checks, and emergency lighting tests.
- Perform health & safety checks in coordination with Customer Services.
- Provide first-line response to reactive maintenance needs.
- Carry out minor repairs, decorating tasks, and plumbing repairs.
- Inspect plant rooms and boilers, ensuring they are in good condition.
- Maintain and safely store equipment.
- Perform electrical appliance tests and use common hand and power tools for maintenance.
- Inspect grounds and facilities, undertaking janitorial and porterage duties as needed.
- Maintain digital records and deliver excellent customer service.
- Monitor communal areas for maintenance or cleaning issues.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Manage adverse weather conditions by clearing snow and gritting paths.
- Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in risk assessment or a relevant health & safety qualification.
- Proven background in building maintenance, cleaning, or caretaking.
- Qualification in a building trade or facilities management.
- Strong understanding of health and safety in a building environment.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and maintain accurate records.
