If so, this prestigious higher education organisation is looking for you to join their team as a Category Manager and lead procurement strategies in a dynamic and impactful role.Location: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site with flexibility)Sector: Higher EducationSalary: £56,000 - £62,000Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for the estates and facilities category.
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle from tendering and supplier selection to contract management and supplier performance reviews.
  • Drive cost savings and efficiency across the estates and facilities category while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored procurement solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis and develop strategies for supplier engagement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all public sector procurement regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Lead negotiations to achieve the best value for money while fostering strong, long-term supplier relationships.
  • Monitor contract performance and manage risks associated with supplier delivery, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide advice and guidance on procurement matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the estates and facilities market, emerging trends, and capital projects to inform procurement strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven procurement experience within the public sector (essential).
  • Strong expertise in estates and facilities management procurement (highly desirable).
  • Experience dealing with capital projects, facilities management or exposure to construction (highly desirable).
  • MCIPS qualification (desirable).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative approach to working with stakeholders at all levels.
